ABOUT PRECIOUS STONE PENDANTS
Carver Aaron Fleming and his wife, Jade, are the husband-and-wife team behind Precious Stone Pendants — a small, locally rooted studio based in Nelson, creating handcrafted stone jewellery inspired by the natural beauty of Aotearoa.
A Love of Nature, Carved by Hand
Stemming from his love of nature and lifelong passion for rockhounding, Aaron discovered his craft through carving. Over the years, he’s shaped everything from furniture made with recycled native timbers to the beautiful stones gathered from local rivers.
With deep appreciation for each stone he works with, every piece Aaron carves tells its own story — handcrafted with care and intention, ensuring no two pendants are ever the same.
Locally Connected, Naturally Inspired
Born and raised in the Nelson region, Aaron draws inspiration from the landscapes around him. He has a particular love for carving local stones from Nelson and the West Coast, including Serpentine, which holds a distinctive connection to the region’s geology and character.
Each creation reflects not only the stone’s natural form but also the local environment it came from — making every pendant a genuine piece of New Zealand to wear and treasure.
A Shared Creative Vision
Jade collaborates on many designs, bringing an artistic eye and a love for balance and flow. Her hand-drawn aesthetic patterns are often the starting point for Aaron’s carvings, resulting in pieces that beautifully combine art and craft — and have quickly become favourites among collectors and visitors alike.
STONES WE WORK WITH
Aaron and Jade work with a variety of New Zealand stones, including Jade, Douglas Creek Pounamu, Argillite, Serpentine, Garnet, and Jasper, among others.
Each stone has its own personality, texture, and colour — offering something unique for everyone to fall in love with.
