This elegant, long and narrow toki is carved from a striking Nelson Jade bone-coloured kōkopu variety. Named for its soft, pale tones reminiscent of native freshwater fish, this unique pounamu displays gentle creamy hues with subtle natural patterning. Found in the Nelson region, this variety is especially sought after for its distinctive colouring and quiet sophistication, making each piece truly individual.
The elongated form enhances the stone’s natural beauty, drawing attention to its delicate tonal shifts and organic markings. Smoothly polished, the Jade reveals a soft lustre that highlights its refined character.
Finished with a black binding, the toki is securely lashed in a traditional style that adds depth and contrast to its slender silhouette. The dark cord complements the pale stone beautifully, creating a balanced, contemporary aesthetic while ensuring it can be worn comfortably.
Traditionally representing an adze blade, the toki symbolises strength, determination, focus, and the power to shape one’s own path. It is often associated with leadership, resilience, and authority earned through skill, discipline, and purposeful action.
