This striking Rhodonite toki has been hand carved from beautiful Otago Rhodonite, featuring a soft pink base interwoven with naturally occurring brown and earthy mineral patterns. The longer form of this toki gives it an elegant, elongated look, while allowing the natural character of the stone to really shine.
Rhodonite is a manganese-rich silicate mineral from the pyroxenoid family, and its name comes from the Greek rhodon, meaning “rose” — a fitting name for a stone known for its beautiful pink and rosy tones.
The toki (adze) form is traditionally associated with strength, courage, determination and authority. Its elongated shape can also be seen as a reminder of perseverance and inner strength — qualities that carry us through life's challenges.
With its natural colouring, distinctive patterning and unmistakable New Zealand origin, this is a piece that is completely unique to the stone it was carved from.
